The plan resulted in a win-win situation for the creditors, the debtor and a new joint venture partner. The case involved multiple parcels of real estate worth between $12-15 Million. At the time the bankruptcy case was filed, the properties were in foreclosure, there was a referee running the properties and things were in a bit of a mess. Mr. Weiner was able to stop the foreclosure, get his client back in control of the properties and ultimately, the client was able to reorganize by finding a joint venture partner to come in and pay all of the creditors.
