As New York foreclosures remain a problem, it’s perhaps more important than ever before to understand your mortgage. However, an attempt to diagram the journey of a mortgage seems, paradoxically, to do the opposite.
The chart is the work of Dan Edstrom, an employee of DTC Systems, who performs securitization audits, and who devoted the past year to creating an infographic that follows the journey of his own home’s mortgage. (Source: ZeroHedge)
Of course, while trying to follow the chart itself may not be helpful to the average homeowner, perhaps the read educational value of it is simply to demonstrate how convoluted a “mortgage” has become. What does this say about our society and our ability to deal with these issues? Clearly it indicates that our world has become rather complex.
If you’re a New Yorker facing foreclosure or concerned about bankruptcy, however, their are solutions for dealing with your problems that are actually not as complex as the above chart. Please feel free to contact me for a free initial consultation and I’ll be happy to answer your questions and help you start figuring out the best approach for getting back on your financial feet.
